Once upon a time deep in the Enchanted Davey Dogwood Forest where the dogwoods bloomed, there lived a Fairy Village called Windermere. This Fairy Village was unlike any other in all the land. This was because all the fairy’s were ancient and wise. It was known throughout the forest that Windermere fairy’s were kind and trusting to all. In fact, they were so trusting that they accidentally trusted a Greedy, Horrid Giant named Maerceci [pronounced [May-air-suh-kia]. Maerceci was Gargantuan & green. He wasn’t always that way thou. Maerceci was once a nice fairy, but he disobeyed the rules of his village. As punishment for disobeying the rules, the headmaster of his village cast him out to live among the hills by himself. When Maerceci was cast out of the village, a curse was put on him turning him green. Maerceci wandered the hills of East Texas alone and hungry. The longer he was isolated from civilization, the greedier he became. Meanwhile in the Windermere Fairy Village the fairy’s were living life to the fullest. There were activities every day for the fairy’s, so they never got bored. The fairy’s loved playing bingo. Windermere fairy’s were not all about fun thou. The fairy’s were very active by going to exercise every day with their mysticial blue-haired Activity Director Charla. Charla loved all the fairy’s very much, including Peaches. Peaches was Fairy-Rosie’s pet poodle. One day while Fairy-Rosie was out walking Peaches for her daily walk, Peaches started growling. It worried all the fairy’s so much that the head fairy Gregory called a special meeting to discuss why Peaches would growl every time she was walked outside the village. It was decided by Fairy Gregory that it might not be safe outside the walls of Windermere. No one knew that Peaches could smell Maerceci every time she went outside. For Maerceci was hiding in the hills behind Windermere. One Friday afternoon Fairy Gregory decided to take a trip to Crockett, a neighboring village. Before he left he instructed all the fairy’s to stay indoors for the weekend while he was gone. Now here is where the problem began. Fairy-Woody was not at the meeting when Fairy-Gregory ordered the fairy’s to stay inside. So Fairy-Woody went outside to play with his friend, Fairy-Danny. While they were outside playing, Maerceci decided to come down out of the hills and befriend Fairy-Woody and Fairy-Danny. Fairy-Danny was so excited to have a new friend to play tag with that he accidentally told Maerceci the door code of Windermere. That night while all the fairy’s of Windermere were snuggled all safe in their beds Maerceci used the door code and came inside the walls of Windermere. Maerceci roamed the halls all night and learned everything he could about the layout of Windermere. Maerceci liked that Windermere had Fairy-corns and he also liked that there was a pet skunk. While Maerceci was wandering the halls of Windermere he decided he didn’t like living in the hills anymore. He decided that before daylight he would take Fairy-Gregory’s job of being head fairy. So Maerceci went to each room and put spells on all the fairy’s one by one so that when they woke up they would obey Maerceci. Saturday morning when the fairy’s woke up the spell worked and they followed Maerceci’s orders. The entire weekend the fairy’s obeyed Maerceci and the fairy’s never knew a spell had been put on them. The fairy’s did things that weekend that they would never have done if the spell wasn’t on them. For instance, when visitors came into Windermere that weekend, they were allowed in. But when the visitors tried to leave, the fairy’s charged the visitors .25 cents to get out the locked door. Maerceci had lots of fun reeking havoc that weekend with the fairy’s. On Sunday Fairy-Carla had to go to the building to get something out of her desk. As soon as Fairy-Carla walked into the building she knew something wasn’t right. The building was a mess. You see, Maerceci was controlling the fairy’s minds. The fairy’s would read a book and then leave the book in the floor. They would play games and not clean up their mess when the game ended. Fairy-Carla did not like what she saw. Now remember, Windermere fairy’s are wise. Fairy-Carla knew they were under a spell of some sort. For she knew that these fairy’s would never leave books on the floor. Fairy-Carla left the building and immediately called Fairy-Gregory. It was decided that Fairy-Gregory would handle this situation first thing Monday morning. So all weekend the Windermere fairy’s were being controlled by Maerceci. On Monday morning Fairy-Gregory got on his White horse and went to see Wizard Tim. He told Wizard Tim all that Fairy-Carla told him. So Fairy-Gregory on his white horse and Wizard Tim on his black horse went to Windermere. Immediately Wizard Tim knew what was wrong. He knew that the fairy’s were being mind controlled. So Wizard Tim set about walking the halls of Windermere chanting. While he was chanting Fairy-Gregory went and hired a troll-frog to come and be a guard. Once Wizard Tim was done chanting he found Maerceci and put him behind a trap door that led to a basement underground. The troll-frog was to guard the door forever. With Wizard Tim braking the spell, all was right in the world of Windermere. When Queen-Debbie heard of Maerceci and that he was being kept underground behind a large door guarded by a troll-frog she insisted that Maerceci be able to have a pet cat live with him. For Queen-Debbie was a very kind queen with a good heart. She did not want Maerceci to live out his life alone. So Maerceci got a pet cat and all the fairy’s lived happily ever after. And the Troll-Frog had a job that paid him money. The End

She woke up.  Although she doesn’t know where she is. Then she sees a bug and is suddenly startled. It was huge!”Ahhh, what is happening? Where am I? Why is that so big… or why am I so small?” she questioned. She looked around and saw huge leaves that were as green as they could be. She saw something while she was looking around.

“Hello? Anyone there?” she asked.

“H-hi, I’m Dr. David Patrick,” whispered David.

“DOCTOR?” she said.

“Yes, and what’s your name?”  Davis said as he came out of hiding.

“Rosemary, but you can call me Rose” Rosemary said.

“You’re new around here, let me take you to my office,” David shouted as he flew up.

Mesmerized by his wings that had a sort of blue lace.  She almost didn’t say anything but then she said, “What? You have wings? How am I supposed to follow you?”

David cried, “Simple, just open your wings and flutter!”

As she got used to flying, she was amazed by all of the flowers, and mushrooms, it was magical, and then she thought about something; how did this happen to her?  The last thing she remembered she was being chased then she woke up here.

She was astonished by the fact that all the buildings were mushrooms, and that they were pretty roomy.  When they arrived at David’s office he did a check-up on her to make sure nothing was wrong (being as she had shown up out of nowhere).

“So what is this place?” Rosemary said curiously. David replied, “Why it is the Fairy Garden.”  She quickly said, “Oh yeah, I’ve heard about this place, doesn’t it…”

“Have a path with stone around it, and fairies in the village that have magical creatures for pets,” they both said simultaneously.

“So how did I get here?” she asked as she sat up on the rock by the doctor’s office sign.

“Well this seems to happen a lot; what happens is if someone that has enough magic in them is in danger they appear here and live here forever,” David said as he locked up the office so they could leave.

“What about my kids… WHERE ARE THEY?” she shouted as she started to stress out about her kids.

“It will be easier if I just show you,” explained David.  So they headed to the village.  “Home Sweet Home” was on the door of of a house. “As it says, ‘Home Sweet Home’, go see your kids,” David said as he opened the door.

After that, David and Rosemary had a wedding in the field with benches, white flowers and everyone was invited.  The kids loved the change… and they all lived…

In a hidden Dogwood forest, nowhere to be seen, lies the prettiest of fairy villages. The houses glow under the full moon. Fairies fly amongst the land, trailing fairy dust behind them for a split second before it disintegrated. The fairies’ wings flutter behind them, creating a twinkling sound every time they flap their wings. Full moons are always special in the fairyland of Elkadia, especially in the middle of spring.
Their tradition began long ago, and now, the celebration is the highlight of the spring season. Plums and oranges are harvested by the faeries for their night of happiness. Meanwhile, tree nymphs are busy picking their acorns and pecans to prepare for one another. Fairies of the Dogwood forest feast in the full moon’s light with their neighbors, the tree nymphs, to celebrate their peaceful world together – except for Gaius, the lonely wizard who guards two towers, with blooming scarlet roses surrounding one, laying east of roserock wall.
Alfred, the son of the head faerie guardian, Asteria, has a crush on a fairy named Prilla. He always looks for a reason to talk to her, but alas, he is always shy. One day, after a short conversation with Prilla, he learned her favorite flower was the beloved scarlet rose. Alfred knew exactly where to find one; beyond the Roserock Wall, to the abandoned Rose Tower.
The one thing that stood between Alfred and the Rose Tower was the despised Gaius. Being the son of faerie Asteria, though, he had an advantage against all other fairies; Alfred had the ability to turn invisible to escape any trouble he may face. He would fly past the wizard and the wall without ever being seen, but in order for him to not be missed by his mother during the celebration, he quickly thought of the potion of forgetfulness. Before the toast of rainwater between his mother and the High Countess of Tree Nymphs, Melisande, Alfred made the potion and would drop the formula into every faeries rainwater drink, making them forget he was ever there. Right before the celebration, Alfred set out on this adventure before the others gathered, and would return before the dance under the light of the full moon. He was off and would only return with the scarlet rose.
Over the roserock wall he could see the scarlet rose tower. He knew, under the full moon’s light, he would finally fulfill his dreams. There would only be one problem in the way: the wizard guarding the lovely tower. Alfred’s plan was to use his invisibility against the wizard, but little did he know, he couldn’t be fooled! The wizard had the best nose in all of Elkadia. Gaius quickly smelled Alfred, but saw nothing, and a look of confusion grew on his face as he examined his surroundings. Alfred began to execute his plan: tying him up with vine that he had found while traveling. Realizing Gaius couldn’t see him, Alfred quickly grabbed the vine and wrapped it around the wizard. He flew around the restricted wizard once, seeing if he could break free. Now that he was tied up, Alfred quickly grabbed as many scarlet roses as he could and put them in the air balloon. He untied the sand sacks from the balloon and lifted off in a hurry to return to the festival.
Home at last, he quickly flies to erase the potion of forgetfulness he once placed upon his village. He set up the scarlet roses in a garden, with the words “Be Mine” spelled out. He fetches Prilla to surprise her with the gift. He runs past his mother and the High Countess, looking around to find Prilla. Once seeing the fairy, he speaks to her, explaining that he needed her help.
The look of surprise on her face was enough to make Alfred’s night. Quickly, he places an extra rose behind her ear before they race back to the festival. As the light of the sun appears, it is time for the Grand Meeting; here, fairies and nymphs plan for the next year before concluding the celebration. As the meeting ends, the majestic creatures bid their farewells; after saying goodbye to a few nymphs, Alfred speaks to Prilla, and plan to plant a scarlet rose together.

In the trunk of a tree off the old beaten trail,
lies a whimsical school with a little white bell.
It has doors made of sticks and walls made of moss,
And a colorful banner sprawling across.
Here you’ll find fairies of all different kinds,
it takes lots of sparkle to teach little minds.
Kindness and love is what makes these teachers;
they help fairies learn about all of God’s creatures.
Here they learn things a fairy should know,
like how to fly, and how flowers grow.
Which foods to eat, what berries to pick,
And how to choose herbs when someone gets sick.
Classes on magic, how to use pixie dust,
At this school dancing is really a must!
Luna, Tulip, Blossom, and Lilly,
You’ll find on the swings where they love to act silly.
Sunrise til sunset they dance and they learn,
Practice their skills so their wings they will earn.
They then fly around with enchantment and grace,
guiding and helping all over the place.
So walk and explore but please be alert,
More reside here than just bugs, trees, and dirt.
At Davey Dogwood there are fairies abound,
They might even be on a merry-go-round!

The Elenora have been a wayfaring clan for as long as anyone can remember. But not for reasons one might think. Oh sure, there are hazards to fairies of staying in one place too long, and yes, every fairy loves adventure and exploration, but the reason the Elenora have traveled the world for millennia, is for the world’s sake.
You see, the Elenora were created each one uniquely splendid, with magical powers of his or her own, and varying by the situation! For example, River, by his smile, can cast a magic spell of happiness and warmth on all who see it. But sometimes, for instance if a troll has cast his evil spell on one of the fairies, rendering him unable to dance as is the fairies’ custom at all times, River can tap sticks in a very particular way which renders the hearer unable to keep still, but to dance and jump with all his might! Luc, on the other hand, with his unusual strength, can lift very large bottles of the special fairy milk! He also has a unique ability with a peculiar hand gesture, to summon other fairies to his aid.
All the Elenora understand because the fathers and mothers have never ceased to teach the children, that they each have their unique special powers and that they are given for the good of the world. The wonderful thing is that once they find and begin to practice their unique powers, it gives them great pleasure to use them in every possible situation!
When the Elenora come to a geographical place, they all work together to make a beautiful garden where they all can live and share and be together with their creator who goes before and with them. Then they go out into the surrounds befriending those who are poor or needy, those who are lame or blind, those who are lost, sad, confused, or in any other condition less than perfect. Each of the clan helps and cares for their new friends using their special powers and before too long, there are no longer any poor or needy, but all have their own unique powers! None are lame or blind but all can see and recognize the unique and special powers in each other. When the local community has been beautified to perfection, the Elenora must move on to another one, for this is why they were created, to go forth into the entire world making all perfect. Of course, they leave behind their beautiful gardens for all to enjoy, just as it was while they were living and dancing there daily.
Who knows, when one happens upon an Elenora garden, whether those in the community have already been made perfect through their help and care, or whether the fairy clan are still living there helping and caring for the local people.

When I finally met Hoggel, he was not at all what you might expect after meeting so many other Fairies in the woods that day. On first sight he looked almost human, although only inches tall of course. Right away you notice he is not flying and fluttering about as most fairies do, and at first I assumed it was due in part to the large haul of what seemed to be twigs all tied up in bundles strapped to his back, which I later learned was his preferred choice of firewood for his bread making oven, turns out Hoggel is quite the bread maker and very particular about every ingredient, and if you’ve ever spent any amount of time with Hoggel you’ll understand what I mean when I say that he loves talking about all things Bread. Hoggel does not dress to impress, that is very apparent. When he arrived he wore a burlap coat that dragged along the ground behind him, collecting soil and leaves as he walked along, filthy and torn. Funny enough, even with the long coat on he chooses to wear burlap shorts that rise just above his knees, revealing skinny little legs with comical knobby knees and suspenders made of braided thread he must have found on his daily foraging adventures, discarded by some human campers I’d imagine. I would comment on the design of his shirt, but with his long grey beard, it was difficult to determine if he was wearing one at all. I don’t mean to poke fun at Hoggel, but I must convey the drastic difference in appearance when you meet him, compared to other Fairies. The truth is, Hoggel is very unique indeed, and his life is quite fulfilled, which made him so pleasant to speak with. Interesting note, “Hoggel” is actually a term that Fairies have used for as long as anyone can remember. To “Hoggel” means “to walk”, derived from Hoggel’s name. You see Hoggel is so old, there is hardly a Fairy alive today that can recall the woods without him in it, and for as long as anyone can remember, no one has ever seen Hoggel fly. Although when speaking with other Fairies that day, Hoggel does indeed have wings under that Burlap Coat of his, but centuries of not putting them to use have left them shriveled and nearly immobile. So I asked Hoggel why he has chosen a life on the ground… his response was simple “Nothing for Hoggel up there” was all he said, and I left it at that. It was clear as I looked around that Hoggel’s interests had nothing to do with living a life high above the ground. He had his love of bread making, a campfire, a profitable firewood business for which he would trade wood for flour in order to make his bread and a make shift shelter off in the woods behind this Fairy Garden. And with that brought up another question… what is this place? It seems to go without saying that this is not Hoggel’s home, nor a home at all. This garden seemed more like a destination… beautiful but silent, except for the crackling of burning firewood coming from Hoggel’s work space. There is a large ornate door that opens into the tree, you might expect to see windows as usual, yet there are none. There is a bridge leading into the tree as well, spanning towards a darkness and a faint view of a water well can be seen. “What is this place?” I asked. With a smirk and a glance around Hoggel replied “Ah, that is a very good question Human, with an equally guarded answer. But I’ll tell you what i can tell you”. With that Hoggel explained that he is what’s known as “The Keeper of the Well” not just locally, but world wide. Hoggel went on to talk about so many things that were hard to understand when there was so much he could not reveal. The best i can explain it in Human terms is like this… This place seems to be one of many stops along a journey that all Fairies embark on. Like a pilgrimage of sorts, a journey young Fairies take to become “what they will be” as Hoggel puts it. A Fairy will come here and peer into the Well, known as “The Reflection Pool”. When I asked Hoggel what he Fairies see in the pool, in cryptic and guarded words he responded “A truth, A lie, A love and A Fear”. Once a Fairy has peered into the pool, the Fairy will than knock 4 times on the door. Hoggel explained that the door will either open, or remain closed. If the door remains closed, the Fairy will begin its journey all over again. If the door opens, the Fairy will enter, the door will close and the Fairy will not be seen again as they were before they entered. Nor will they exit from the same door… so where do they go? What do they become? What’s in the door? I had so many more questions. None of which Hoggel could answer. I had clearly been trusted as far as I was going to be. I would love to imagine that this place is magical and possibly where Fairies get there powers or abilities… but I’ll never truly know. But that’s the greatest thing about the fairy world to us humans isn’t it? The myths, the magic and the mystery of it all. So that was it. I continued to visit with Hoggel that day and we talked about life, when we were young, now that we’re older and of course we talked about Bread… who doesn’t love a great bread?

Hello Fairy friends and welcome to Buttercup Beds. Here you will find everything you need to rest and relax from your long travels as you continue to your next destination. Mitzy and I, Blossom, enjoy accommodating our guests by providing great meals such as Nutmeg Pie and fresh Berry Smoothies. You can also sip on our famous Dogwood Nectar Tea as you play with our pet ladybugs. They really enjoy playing Hide and Seek and Follow the Leader. Just beware that they always win. Personally, our favorite pastime is playing Mushroom Hop Scotch. We cannot use our wings so it is a great exercise as it literally keeps us on our toes.
As the official Butterfly Migrator Fairies we have to travel a lot over long distances. This can be very exhausting at times and we noticed that there were not many places for us to rest during our butterfly season. Therefore, we decided to help our fellow fairies by providing a rest home during our off-season.
We hope you will stay as long as you need, as we both greatly enjoy your company. When you must be on your way, we will send you off with needed supplies, goodies and our well wishes towards your next destination. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
